Nangiloc/Colignan Primary School has a student population of 72 pupils; we service a rural remote community 50 km from Mildura in the Loddon Mallee Region. The school has three composite grades, Prep/1, Grades 2/3/4 and Grades 5/6.  Each class has approximately 23 pupils which allows each child to have their own personal learning environment. The school is an important part of the community and has developed a close link with local industry and a special program entitled Enterprise Learning.

The school has a wonderful, caring and open atmosphere that encourages parents and students  to become totally involved in the learning program. Teachers (3.4 EFT,1 Principal, 1.2 Teacher Aides) are committed to providing a stimulating classroom environment and are all very experienced teachers.  Each teacher has a key role in either mathematics or language and in the morning the chidren rotate for classes.

The school has a focus on problem solving and each week every class is involved in one of these sessions. This program enables the senior students to run their own business in grade 5 & 6. This program is highly supported by all parents.

The school has recently been refurbished and now provides an open learning environment.

What is Learning at Nangiloc/Colignan PS?
“Learning is a dynamic, integrative and interactive process. It is a process, which naturally integrates subject disciplines, one, which necessitates higher level thinking, and one, which requires the use of information technology skills. Learning is authentic and has real life meaning.”
